As you know I have had an ongoing project photographing my friend Charlotte's new twin babies. They continue to fight their way out of the neonatal intensive care unit. Each time I return they look better than before. They still have a ways to go but they are fighting the good fight.
For you Charlotte, I hope you enjoy and find comfort in this slideshow when you are unable to be with your babies.
Keep hanging in there!
Turn up the sound to hear Celine & Andrea sing a song Charlotte enjoys while thinking about her beautiful babies...

Mark, I have watched your beautiful slideshow tribute celebrating the birth and journey of Charlotte's twins: Gavin and Alexis (Lexi)several times now....Your photos and selection of music (duet by Celine and Andre) are perfecto! Most definitely there is this affirmation in my heart that Gavin and Alexis are TRUELY blessed to have such a wonderful and caring mother in Char. As I mentioned to you the other day Mark, it was not by accident that you came into our lives. You have been a wonderful friend to Char and have a special place in the hearts of those who have had the priviledge in meeting you; if only for a short time, as you pursued your love of photography and desire to help mankind. Your many gifts have been a blessing to us all.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this tribute to Char, the babies, and of course the NICU team consisting of the nurses, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, and medical staff (e.g. physicians). My heart overflows with gratitude to the NICU staff for everything they have done and continue to do for Char, Gavin and Alexis (Lexi). Merry Christmas Mark to you and your family. Ruthie
Mark, once again you take my breath away with my childrens journey. I had forgotten how small and fragile they were when they came into this world. Everyone has a sense of what I'm going through but if you don't see it you don't truely know. More than a few people have said it brought them to tears to see the slideshow. You captured the essence of their struggle to simply live. Thank you for also including the NICU and labor/delivery staff at Goodsam. I can't say enough about their kindness and compassion in helping myself Gavin and Lexi through one of the most difficult times of our lives.
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
sniff

Mark,
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to put into words how your deeply affecting slide show of Char, Gavin and Alexis moved me. I was speechless. To know that it gives Char comfort when she is away from the kids is all that need be known. For that, you have my deepest appreciation.

Hi Mark,
ReplyDeleteI am Charlotte's first cousin, Sherry. WE haven't seen each other in many years. Thanks to you and the wonders of the internet I have been reconnected to her and her beautiful twins.
I only recently learned that they had been born prematurely, and it is a real joy for me to be able to see them.
What a wonderful photographer you are. I'll come back to visit often to see your updates and photos.
Thank you so much.
Sherry Diener
