Caitlin

Caitlin's mom Becky, who I haven't seen in years hit me up to shoot Caitlin's senior pictures. This was my first senior session for the year and it couldn't have gone better. I was a bit worried about the harsh mid-day light at high noon on a gorgeous day. It all worked out. I put Becky to work holding the bounce, and she kicked butt. Got a good arm workout too in the crazy wind. Thanks for the help Becky.

Caitlin totally rocked and I was blown away by her amazing personality. Totally outgoing, laughing constantly, and willing to try just about anything. She even braved the chilly Monterey Bay ocean. By far the most fun I've had shooting a portrait session, and my best work yet in that area too, I think. Totally stoked on these and I know Becky & Caitlin will like them.

Thanks for taking a look. Leave me some love in the comments if you like.

Great job Caitlin!!!

Such a great natural smile that didn't go away all day.

I love all the textures of the buildings on Ft. Ord

Took it inside an abandoned building to get some grunge and play with lighting a bit

These were taken with off camera flash and a flashlight, white balanced to the flashlight. I love how the flash showered the back wall in the blue light. This room was pitch black.

The biggest challenge of the day was getting her to not smile. So happy.

Caitlin was such a good sport. I asked her if she wanted to get in the water. She just looked at me with a look of excitement and willingness to try whatever. It was a long wet walk back to the car.

Mike, Gina, Judah, and Jedidiah Steelman

A few weeks ago I posted some teaser shots of the very Pregnant Gina Steelman from a shoot we did out in Fort Ord and at a park in town. We were going for a bit of a grungy setting to contrast the delicate nature of a pregnant woman. Therefore, I chose to shoot some out on the abandoned Army base Ft. Ord. Since the shoot Gina has had her new baby, Jedidiah Titus Steelman. Pretty cool name I think.

Mike and Gina are a couple of the most loving parents I've ever seen, and Judah reflects this in his laid back and fun nature. He's one of the coolest little kids I've known.

I shoot a bit with Mike and have him to thank for helping me get started in this biz and it feels so good to be able to give back a little. You can see more of Mike and his work here

It's interesting how things work out in life sometimes. I met Mike through a friend at the fire department I work with, Jason, who grew up with Mike. I met Scarlett when I went with Mike to a photo convention in L.A. If you know me, you know Scarlett by this point.
